Sourced locally from our farmers when possible celery is a versatile vegetable that is widely used in a variety of recipes. It adds a fresh flavour as well as a distinctive crunchy texture to both cooked dishes and salads. The darker the celery, (it can range from white to darkish green) the stronger its flavour. It adds flavour and texture to salads, soups, stocks, casseroles and risottos. Celery is a source of potassium and contains (typically per 100g) just 8 calories, 0.25g fat, 0.85g carbohydrates, 0.5g protein and 1.15g fibre.
