Description
Cantaloupe melons grow on the ground surface as a trailing vine. It features lightly-ribbed, pale green skin, its flesh colour ranges from orange/yellow to salmon and has a soft consistency and juicy texture with a sweet, musky aroma that is best in the completely ripe fruits. There is a hollow cavity filled with small off-white color seeds. It is an excellent source of vitamin A which has been known to help protect from oral cavity and lung cancers and contains vitamin c. Advised storage is in a cool ventilated area. To prepare wash the whole fruit in cool water, then cut in pieces and discard the skin or scoop out the melon’s flesh.
